Friends Book Sort
The Friends operate a used book sale area in the library basement and hold public sales approximately every other month. To prepare for these sales, volunteers process and shelve donated items. Sorts are a great opportunity to socialize, chat about books, and help your library.
If you are interested in helping out, please email friends@gepl.org to schedule an orientation session.

Helpful Computer Skills for Maker Projects
Most maker projects require a design file that is uploaded to the software that runs the equipment. For this reason, the following skills are very helpful. Ability to use a keyboard to copy and paste Ability to use a mouse to double-click and left-click, click-and-drag and highlight text, and scroll Ability to navigate file directories, open and rename files Knowledge of how to use a flash drive Patience using a computer for up to an hour
DigitalLearn.org is a great resource for anyone who would like to enhance their computer skills. The library's goal is for programs to be enjoyed by all. If you have any concerns about accessibility or need to request specific accommodations, please call 630-469-0879 or email reference@gepl.org.
Maker Program
Supplies provided. Maker programs are available to Glen Ellyn Public Library cardholders. Maker program registration begins 30 days prior to the event. To use The Workshop, visitors must complete, sign, and date the Makerspace Use Agreement and Waiver and Release of Liability. Visitors under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the agreement on their behalf.
