The term is often used to describe early-career writers who may need support. The library’s Emerging Author Collection offers local authors the opportunity to have their books on shelves and in circulation, receive wider exposure, and reach an audience they might not otherwise influence. Use the laser to engrave a design on wood and cut holes for a comb binding. Use the comb binder to perforate paper pages and bind the wood cover to make a notebook!

Maker Program

Supplies provided. Maker programs are available to Glen Ellyn Public Library cardholders. To help ensure that maker programs are available to everyone, Glen Ellyn Public Library cardholders will be eligible to register for one maker program per person per month. Maker program registration begins 30 days prior to the event.

To use The Workshop, visitors must complete, sign, and date the Makerspace Use Agreement and Waiver and Release of Liability. Visitors under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the agreement on their behalf.

Name tags

Name tags will be available at the Youth Desk beginning 30 minutes prior to the program start time. Children with their grownups can pick up name tags on a first-come, first-served basis.

Promotion

Adults and children may be photographed and videotaped by library staff or their representatives in the course of library activities. The images may be used, without accompanying personal identification, in library publicity. If you have a concern about this policy, please contact library staff.
