Smart Starts
Drop in for some early-literacy learning and play based on a weekly theme. For pre-k and their grownups.
Movements Big and Small
FoL Book Sort
The Friends operate a used book sale area in the library basement and hold public sales approximately every other month. To prepare for these sales, volunteers process and shelve donated items. Sorts are a great opportunity to socialize, chat about books, and help your library.
If you are interested in helping out, please email friends@gepl.org to schedule an orientation session.
Homework Cafe
High school students can head to the library after school to enjoy hot chocolate, library laptops, and a quiet(ish) place to study.
The Middle Squad
Middle School Librarian Tom Malinowski recommends books, audiobooks, and graphic novels and offers fun challenges 6-8th graders can do at home.
Kids and their grownups can enjoy friendly conversation and fun activities while snacking on pizza at this monthly book club. Copies of book discussion titles are available at the Youth Desk. For grades 3-5.
Financial and academic experts at My College Planning Team will introduce little-known strategies and new tools available to help families plan, save, and pay for college as well as find the best college fit.
