These events acknowledge holidays and other occasions that are valued in our community.

By including these days, we hope that you

  • see your diversity mirrored on our calendar
  • feel like we are taking your beliefs and observances into account with our programming
  • become aware of occasions valued by other members of the community
  • appreciate the diversity of our community

This effort, as well as others to come, are the result of our participation in the Glen Ellyn DEI Project meetings and listening sessions. The library is committed to furthering our commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of our community.

Together Time

Dynamic session promoting child and grownup bonding through creating, singing, playing, and sharing stories together. Twenty name tags (children only) will be available at the Youth Desk beginning 30 minutes prior to the program start time. For kids of all ages and their grownups.

FoL Book Sort

FoL Book Sort

The Friends operate a used book sale area in the library basement and hold public sales approximately every other month. To prepare for these sales, volunteers process and shelve donated items. Sorts are a great opportunity to socialize, chat about books, and help your library.

If you are interested in helping out, please email friends@gepl.org to schedule an orientation session.
